Safety & Quality
Written down. Taught on day one. Enforced by the people running the floor.
Painters are on your site longer than almost any other trade. Our safety and quality programs are not a binder in the trailer. They are how our crew leaders run a floor.
Safety program
A written program, updated every year.
Signed by management. Written for the work we actually do, not a generic template.
Our company-wide written safety program was last updated in June 2025 with a dedicated safety consultant. It covers:
- New-hire safety orientation before the first day on a wall
- Stop-work authority and the right to refuse dangerous work, in writing
- Job hazard analysis by task, with weekly site safety meetings
- Ladder, scissor-lift, aerial-lift, and fall-protection procedures
- Hazard communication for coatings, solvents, silica, and lead awareness
- Drug-free jobsite policy
- Emergency action, first aid, and accident investigation
- OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping
Training. Our Operations Manager and Field Operations Manager each hold the 62-hour NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor card. Field staff meet the OSHA training requirements of every jobsite they are sent to, and cards are checked before mobilization.
EMR history, OSHA logs, training cards, and the full program go out with every prequalification package.
Quality control
Three walks before you ever see it.
- Crew leader walk. Every day, against the finish schedule for that floor or building.
- Project manager walk. Several times a week, and before any area gets reported complete. The schedule moves on what the PM sees, not on what gets reported.
- Client walk. With your PM or super. Nothing gets turned over until you sign.
The color-coded finish prints from estimating are the reference for every walk. Our crews, our management, and your team are all checking the same drawing.
Compliance
Labor and insurance, done the hard way.
Our field workforce is W-2 and paid weekly through in-house payroll, with wage-and-hour compliance run by a Director of Operations with thirty years of New Jersey Department of Labor experience. When we use sub-tier labor, it is prequalified for insurance, registration, and payroll practice and held to the same standard on site.
Certificates of insurance naming the owner and GC as additional insured go out before we mobilize. Bonding is available through a surety rated A+ by AM Best.
