Subcontractors
Build with a prime that does it right.
We back up our W-2 crews with a small group of prequalified painting subs, and we hold them to the same insurance, registration, wage, and safety standards our GCs hold us to. If that is already how you run your shop, we are an easy partner: clear scope, written work orders, paid on schedule.
Requirements
What every MPA sub brings to the table.
- Certificate of insurance for general liability and workers' compensation, with MPA and the project owner and GC named as additional insured
- Current New Jersey business registration certificate and, where applicable, home improvement contractor or public works contractor registration
- IRS Form W-9 and entity formation documents
- Your own W-2 payroll for the workers you bring on site, with records available for review. MPA does not accept sub-tier labor paid off the books or misclassified as 1099.
- Written safety program and OSHA 10 for all field personnel
- Signed MPA Master Subcontractor Agreement. Each assignment is issued as a written work order under that agreement.
The jobsite and the GC contract set the bar, and on some projects it is higher than this list.
How it works
From first call to first work order.
- Submit the prequalification form with your company information, capacity, and the documents above.
- Document review. Our operations team goes through insurance, registration, and payroll practices. We may come back with questions.
- Master agreement. Approved companies sign the MPA Master Subcontractor Agreement once.
- Work orders. Every assignment is a written work order: project, scope, schedule, price. No handshake scopes.
- On site. Your crew works under our PM, follows our finish schedule and safety program, and gets paid on the agreed schedule.
